GangOfFour

GangOfFour

The authors of the DesignPatterns book came to be known as the gang of four. The main reason was just that the name of the book is too long for e-mail, so "book by the gang of four" became a shorthand name for it. After all, it isn't the ONLY book on patterns. That got shorted to "GOF book", which is pretty cryptic the first time you hear it.

They can also be found at http://st-www.cs.uiuc.edu/users/patterns/DPBook/GOF.html.

For more information, see http://st-www.cs.uiuc.edu/users/patterns/books/#Gamma and http://www.aw.com/cp/Gamma.html.
